I am more adjusted to her being one than I was a few weeks ago when she turned one I not so emonital, which is a good thing so I could enjoy her day more. I am still in disbelief that it been a year already, but I glad we delayed the party It gave us the time we needed to give her the party she deserved. I was a little stressed out after hurricane Gustav and have no power for a few days and the scare of Ike coming this way right on her party day, but we lucked out and didn't get hit I just hope everyone who was effected by those storms is doing okay we know all too well how stressful the storms can be.
We had her Party Sunday September 14 2008 at our new house. I spent all day and into the morning hours of Saturday and Sunday cleaning the house. Hanging pictures and making the house look nice for my family and friends. We woke up at 8am on Saturday and cleaned til 2am on Sunday, yes you read that right 2am ! then started cleaning again on Sunday at 9am got the cake and had everything ready to go with about 10 minutes to spare before the party. We did a Pink and Brown theme. she had a pink and brown dress with brown shoes and pink and brown hair bows even a pink and brown diaper cover. the whole Family had either pink or brown shirts. I had pink and brown table covers, plates, napkins, even a pink and brown picture from when she was born to her birthday displayed. I was every please with how everything turned out. I tried to get her to nap early that didn't work so she feel asleep nursing about 10 minutes before the party started. It worked out okay though everyone was running late and our adult guest wanted to watch the rest of the game on Tv and by then she was awake and ready for the party. She had her little cake which she wasn't too sure about. She got some cute clothes and some toys nothing too overwhelming I think our turn out and the gifts were just right ! She had a great First Birthday I'm please with how it all went and proud I was able to do it at my house.
