horrible night

horrible night
7/12/07

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I felt pretty good. Worked on getting the birth kit order & my birth plan done. Around 2pm I started showering for Isabella's dance class. We got her there early she had about 10 mins to play before the other kids showed up. I took some up close pictures of her. Then the class started I took a few pictures. Then I started feeling really sleepy. So i went and sat in the 2nd room where Darin was. Before I knew I started feeling one of those attacks I had told the back-up doctor about earlier in the week. I then walked out to the car and had Darin come with me. I told him I was in pain having a attack he asked if I wanted to pull Isabella and go home. I told him no. She enjoyed it took much she still have more than 30 minutes left and the attacks usually only last 30 mins at most. so I sat in the car trying to get through ti 20 minutes later I was sweating like a pig even with the A/C on and I just wanted to be home so I told him to go in and get her. He did the ride home felt like it took forever. I had my eyes closed crying home..home...home..... Darin said I sounded like a bad version of wizard of oz. I told him no jokes right now not funny. as soon as we got home i went inside and it felt like our walkway tripled in size I ran the bath water and jumped in. As soon as Darin got in with the kids he brought me some Tylenol I took it Stayed in the tub for a while longer still wasn't feeling better I knew it had been more than 30 mins since it all started, but I thought I give the med 30 mins to work. I went in the living room got dressed lay arounf tossing and turning i was feeling very hot. So i went upstairs layed on the floor near the vent to get some air still felt bad. Then I got in the bed toss and turned on my sides. Then Darin got me a cool rag for my head I was still in pain but dozing in and out. Darin then went to deal with the kids keep them away from me so I could rest. He asked em a few times if I wanted to go the hospital I said no. I hate hospitals I mean hate them and i had no strength to go. then around 6:30 pm more than 2 hours after it started I was still hurting so I called the back-up doctor to see what they said I was in severe pain could hardly talk at that point. the called back I told him the pain was in my upper stomach and back and hurt really bad. he told me to go to the hospital and get checked out. So I got dressed the rest of the way. Darin got the kids dressed and we got to the hospital at 7pm. I couldn't even sit still but I had to wait for a room to be cleaned. I was complaining to Darin the whole time. they finally came and got me I was balled up in the wheel chair. they brought me to a room told me to change I didn't even have the streght to do it in the bathroom I changed right on the bed and had Darin fold my stuff up. i got in my side in the best position I could. They came in asked questions hooked emma and I up. no contractions which I knew. my belly was nice and soft. Emma's heartrate was in the 150-160. They nurses called the doctor and wanted to take me for an ultrasound said it sounded like my gallbladder, but I need some pain meds to do so. I agreed to it. they gave me state al and fengren don't know if I spelled either right haha. The meds started to work it took the edge off the pain at first and then finally it went away I felt soo much better. around 9 something they came in to take me for my ultrasound asked if i could get in a wheel chair as soon as I lifted my head I said no my head just floated 5 floors up. so they brought me in on a bed and the whole ride down I was dozing in and out. They did the ultrasound on me and even looked at Emma she is head down and still a little girl. when I got back to my room they told me I had some gallstones. they weren't sure what the doctor wanted to do but he called back and said they could wait until after the birth to just go home if the attacks get worse to come back and see the doctor as scheduled. So for now I have a answer, but not much that can be done about it. I could have surgery before the birth if it get worse but that scares me. or wait to after which scares me as well cause of nursing and be away from my daughter. I going to look and see if I can do anything natural between then and now to help this out or where I can prolong in until she done nursing which could be years or at least untils he older where I can stay away and pump. I spent today dozing in and out the Pain meds help alot I couldn't take anymore and I have a pretty good pain tolerance but when the nurse asked me form 1-10 where my pain was i said 45. I still pretty out of it. I hoping for no more attacks but I'm not sure what will come of this new information.

Danielle, that is awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. My mom had gallstones and she said it was the worst pain ever. She didn't find out that the pain she was having was gallstones until she was REALLY, REALLY sick and they ended up having to take her gallbladder out. Maybe you should contact your local LLL because they can help you look up info as to how long you wouldn't be able to nurse Emma for. It should only be about as long as it takes you to come out of anesthesia. It wouldn't be good for you to live in pain too long sweetie.#13 Comment from jennabugg0930

Im so sorry. As I was reading that, I was thinking "gallbladder". My DH just went through that. And Ive heard many women who have them go bad during pregnancy. I hope you can control it, good luck!! Stay away from cheese, green leafy veggies, fat, & dairy....#1 Comment from scrapinlover
