Emmaleigh has had a bit of a cough for about a week or so. Sunday She threw up all over Darin, like When Zack had his reflux. Since she has a cough and the way Darin was holding her I thought it was just due to the cough and post nasal drip. All though she did actually suck on the paci for a little but before she threw up I didn't think much of it. Isabella turned up sick on Sunday with a fever and all. then 2nd have of Sunday I kept saying she feels warm to me. I must have taken her temp under her arm a dozen times but never came up with a fever reading. Darin said she felt fine. I just thought must be mommy just worrying. Monday we went for a check up she did sound a bit "weezy" in the lungs and still had the cough and the green junk and her right here was draining and pretty "stinky" so the ENT put her on an antibiotic for that along with ear drops. Well we left I still swore she felt warm but everyone said I was crazy. Well that night i finally took her temp and she had a temp I don't know I was happy but at least I wasn't crazy maybe I so use to feeling her maybe her body temp is lower than "normal" and just a tad warmer and I could just tell or maybe it was mother's instinct but she has 102.6. I gave her her antibiotic which she threw up. I wipes her down with a cool cloth and gave her some Tylenol to bring it down. she didn't nurse too well. she actually just went to sleep. I was fine with that I knew she needed her rest. Once the fever broke she took a few sips but nothing major. She didn't eat much though the night. The next morning I woke up to her throwing up again oh joy ! She wasn't nursing very well by mid day on Tuesday I was getting worried with the throwing up and even more the refusal to nurse. I called her Pedi and talk to the nurse who told me to stop formula after I told her she wasn't nursing well. ugh !! so thye she told me to stop nursing and put pedilyte in a bottle I told her the problem was she only nurses doesn't take solids, juices, or bottles. She said I have to get her to take it. I mention syring feeding she dismissed that and said to call them back if she refused it. I called the LLL who thought the Bf was fine and the pedilyte was fine and syringe feeding would be the best on a baby who doesn't take bottles and to pump to keep my milk up. I pumped around 5 oz it was sooo sad all I wanted to do was curl up with my baby and rest and nurse her but instead she would nurse all she do is cry non-stop so I pumped and tried to syringe feed but she would get sooo upset emotional I couldn't handle it. So Darin took over and I went up and took a nap he got about 15 or 20 CC in her and he said she took a nap as well and when she woke up she did nurse some. not a real long time I don't think she got any hind milk just the foremilk but I was soo happy I still wanted to comfort nurse and by night time she was back to comfort musing which made me soo happy !!!! She has broke her fever and is back to eating and is happy now, but she had a rough time that was her first fever.
